(While sitting in a waiting room, stealing horrified glances at the obvious meth-heads a couple chairs over.)
Receptionist, to other Receptionist: "I don't like this fake Sudafed stuff. It just doesn't have the 'kick' that the original Sudafed had."
Meth-head #1: *hysterical laughter* *itch itch pick pick*

Later-
Meth-head #1 to Meth-head #2: "Yeah, well I asked Jimmy about it, and he said it didn't matter that I had multiple felonies" *itch itch pick pick*

(As sitting in the drive thru lane of the local Mexican food joint, waiting for a rather large couple to pass by us, so we can go. The man was wearing cut off jean shorts, and a cut off / no sleeve plaid shirt barely covering his beat up, no sleeve tee-shirt.)
Martin: (under his breath) "Careful. You don't want to run over Larry the Cable Guy."

(I walk into the living room and see Arianna laying on her back, with her feet over her head, wrapped around the back of her neck)
Me: "What in the WORLD are you doing??"
Arianna: "Experiencing inner peace."

Con: Getting laid off 10 minutes before the close of the work day on Friday, because of lack of money coming into the business.
Pro: I'll have a lot more free time to blog!
More to come. Sorry I've been such a slacker. I was banned from Internet access at work, so I have been pretty awol on most aspects online, lately.

I know! AMAZING!!
So, this weekend, after the Alien Festival, some of my friends and I
decided to go to this local "haunted spot". It was during the day, so
I wanted to get some photos.
The place is called Ebenezer Chapel and it sits in the Odell Cemetery.
I can't find ANYTHING about it online, other than a grave listing (it's
a pioneer cemetery....really rundown and overgrown. Sunken graves,
missing headstones, the whole shebang.), and some haunted sites saying
"Strange things happen here".
No kidding.
So, the story I always heard, and most everyone I know has heard is
that some guy was a religious leader, of the cultish variety, and went
crazy one day and killed a bunch of kids and stuffed them in the attic
of the chapel. This happened in the late 1800's.
The chapel is completely abandoned now, and torn apart by vandals and
teenagers, and the cemetery doesn't really qualify as a cemetery
anymore....just a mess of ivy and broken headstones in a forest.
Since we were there in the middle of the day, I didn't really expect
anything to happen. At night, the place takes on a WHOLE new feeling.
However, I was wandering around by myself, taking pictures....the girls
were in the chapel, and I was on the far side of the cemetery. I
couldn't hear them, they couldn't hear me. As I stood in the silence
of the forest, I began to hear children's voices from behind me. I
couldn't understand what they were saying, I could just hear the pitch
and cadence of kid's voices...and quite a few of them, too.
Now, we were in a overgrown forest next to vast farmland, w/ no kids in
sight...especially not behind me, which was an overgrown cliff drop
down to an overgrown, impossible to navigate terrain.
It was an odd moment.
Anyhow, I DID manage to get quite a few pretty cool photos, that I think turned out pretty darn cool.
If you're interested, you can see the set of them HERE.
Also, I'm throwing in a few in the extended entry.

I just am not allowed to use the internet at work (sucks), so I just have had no chance to really update. By the time I get home, I really don't want to veg out on the computer.
Plus, nothing exciting happens in my life.
However, today we went to check out the freaks at the UFO festival that happens every year here. There was supposedly some famous UFO photo that was taken here in the 50's, so the same people that created the Kennedy School (of TequilaCon 2007 fame) decided to organize a UFO festival. They own a hotel here in town, as well.
If you're interested in photos of the fun, go here.
Here's a sneak peek.
I'll try to update more. I know, I suck.

So, Jack has been in this verbal stage where he's been having to name EVERYTHING. Doesn't matter what it is, he has to point at it and tell us what it is. This goes w/ people, too.
Our friend Joe comes over quite often to hang out and play poker. Everytime he comes over, he brings a 6 or 12 pack of beer.
Unfortunately, Jack has picked up on this, and now refuses to call Joe by his name.
He is now known as "Beer."
As in, Jack will look around the room, point at us, and be all "Mom....Dad....Nana..........Beer."
Most. Hysterical. Thing. EVER!!

I fear my car may have gone to the great Ford Dealership in the sky.....It doesn't want to work.
So, I'm stuck home tomorrow, as I have no earthly way to go to work. Hopefully I'll be able to get it sorted out soon, because I'd hate to get canned from a job I actually like....but, it's a 45 minute drive away, so there's no way I can walk it.
Anyhow, awhile back Karl sent me his questions to me for this Interview Meme that's going around. So here are my answers:
1. What surprised you most about meeting me in person at TequilaCon?
That you were very quiet and reserved. I mean, I know you have social anxiety, but I'm so used to talking to you online, that I never really gave it much thought. You're def more outgoing w/ your fingers. (Wait, did that sound bad?) :)
2. Do you think you have too much sex, or not enough?
Well, there's been points in my life where it was one or the other. Right now, tho'....I think I'll go w/ the "Goldilocks" answer, and say "Juuuuust Riiiiight".
3. What television shows are you embarrassed to admit you watch?
American Idol. Otherwise, I think I watch fairly decent shows. I think I'm embarrassed to admit "Ghost Whisperer", but that's only cuz of the incredibly cheesy name, the show is actually really good. I mean, could they not come up w/ a BETTER title??
4. Describe your fascination with ghost hunting.
That's a good question, actually. I think it's mainly because I was brought up to not believe that humans had souls, or that there was an afterlife at all. So, I never really was scared of ghosts, because, according to my parents, they didn't exist. So, when I left the religion, and moved into an authentically haunted house, I was WAAAY intrigued by the whole thing. I just think it's fascinating. I've had a couple major scares, from some bad ones....but, otherwise, I just think it's totally fun.
5. How do you express yourself artistically?
Not as much as I should. I am actually really artistic, I did a lot of drawing & painting, etc. But, I hardly have time anymore, and my art stuff is packed away somewhere. I need to pull it out and make time, I know. But, I'm really big on photography. I haven't had a lot of time to go shoot anything really interesting, but I've been doing a 365 project on Flickr, so I've had to post a picture every day, which keeps me doing something SOMEWHAT artistic.
Oh, and I like to write.
Which I've been sucking at doing lately, too.
Yeah, I'm pathetic.
